Turkey Trot 5K
Just because cross country is over doesn't mean you have to quit racing. The next local road race is the Turkey Trot 5K . The race starts at 10:00 am, Saturday November 29th at Moore Park. This fun run has a small twist. The fastest person may not be the winner, but the one who predicts his finishing time the closest will have that honor. The entry fee is simply a child's Christmas gift (labeled boy or girl). I hope to see you there.

Movie night review.
All in all, I liked the movie. The audience was a bit rowdy through parts, but overall, I think that they liked it.
Thanks for coming over, all. I had a great time and wanted to go for a run as soon as the movie ended. As it turned out, I went for a run the next day. It was great. I will try to be there on Monday, but we will have to see what my schedule looks like.
What is next? Let us know what you want to do. This is your club!
Thanks again.

Movie Night!
Who wants to watch a movie Friday night?
Let's meet up at my house, 505 Pacific Terrace (just up the street from Coach Bailey), go for a run, then watch a movie and eat some pizza.
During the movie, we would like to meet with you individually to discuss goals, long term and short, and help you set up an online running log at MapMyRun.com. Speaking of that, if you can sign up for an account before Friday, that would really speed up the process. After everyone is signed up, we will put links to your logs on the blog so that everyone can see what everyone else is doing! Here is the link to my log.
Here are directions to my house: Take the Crater Lake Parkway (Kit Carson Way/Alameda Bypass) to Pacific Terrace. We are three blocks up on the uphill side at the corner with Auburn St. It is a brick house with an enormous spruce tree in the front. There isn't any parking on Pacific Terrace, so you will have to park on Auburn, either up or down.
Bring $3 for pizza, if you can. And don't forget your running clothes!
See you there.

Season Wrap Up
What a great season we had! I am so proud of the way you all ran and improved, worked together and cheered each other on. I am looking forward to continuing running with this great group of kids!
Thank you also for the shirt, socks, and shorts. I will be wearing them to our club meetings, though I may have to bring out the short short-shorts to ratchet up the shock and awe meter another notch (that's right, the blue ones are not even the shortest).
Good luck if you are participating in a winter sport. If you are not, we expect to see you on Wednesday. Bring your friends. We are about running, but we are also about having fun.
Thanks.

Two Things
1.) We are planning on having our first meeting of the Mazama Running Club on Wedensday the 12th of November at 3:30. That is next Wednesday. We will meet out by the tree if it is nice, or if it is blustery, rainy or snowy, we will meet in the Student Entry (by the trainer's office).
2.) Thanks for responding to the poll. If you choose "Other" as your favorite running place, please leave a comment telling us where that is. You can be as specific or general as you like. Inquiring minds want to know.
3.) (Okay, I lied, there are three things). Think of runs and places that you would like to run. Of course, with the snow already falling, our options may be limited.

State Meet Trip
Congrats to Kirby, Sara and Stephanie. Three solid runners who ran each ran solid races.
Here are results from Athletic.net and here is the OSAA's website. We coaches hope that you all had a great time. Next year, let's take a the whole team! (That would just about fill up Track Town Pizza).
Take a week or so off from running. Let those little injuries and micro-tears heal up. We haven't yet decided on a day to meet up, but it will be some time in November. We have some great runs planned and welcome suggestions from you (don't be afraid to use the "Comments".
As of now, our running club is open to everyone. The more the merrier, I say. Get your friends out there. Tell them how much fun XC was and how great it will be in the future. We need to build a good mileage base for the track season, and that can best be done by running. And maybe a little cross training. A good pasta dinner never hurt either...
(Did I put enough links in this post?)
Rest. Take a week off, maybe two. Then let's get back to it.
