Time Trial review

Well, we didn't see as many of you out there as we had hoped. Thanks to all who did show up. I had a good run, and now have a base number to work with when I train for the Pear Blossom Run. You can see my training plan here.

My 3k time, by the way, was 12:07.

Time Trial

Time trial Thursday. Warmup, strides. 3k. I will be there with you because I need to know for myself.

If you want to do a shorter (or longer) time trial, then we will still want your time. Track is soon. This will help us determine workouts.

I urge you to tell everyone who might be out for track to be out there on Thursday, even if they haven't been running.

Looking forward to it.

Track 2009 - Time to move forward

Hey runners,

Track is just around the corner. If you have been jogging over the winter, its time to move forward with your training. You need to start adapting your body to more stressful workouts. Below is a copy of what I handed out last week at the after-school run:

Phase 1
January 14th - February 4th 2009
For the next 3 weeks please include the following in your weekly routine:

One long easy run of 5-8 miles.

Two sessions of strides after your run
5-10 reps of 20-40 seconds

4 or 5 easy runs of 3-6 miles

If you have any questions please call : 883-8203 or email me at Randy_S_Bailey@Netzero.com

Time to start back up

If you haven't been running, now is the time to get back into it. Let's get ourselves ready for track season. The best way to avoid injury and have a great season is to put in the miles now.

Meet up at the pine tree at 3:30, everyday after school. Everyone is welcome.

Also, send in your ideas for a new Poll.
